Metals and Alloys
Titanium

Titanium is the foundation material for practically everything made by us. It generates in the Overworld in both the stone and deepslate layers, with a bias towards the world floor. It is slightly rarer than iron.
Silver

Silver is a precious metal used for mid-grade electronics and energy components. In most biomes, it generates deep underground with a bias towards the world floor. It is slightly more common than gold. In mountains-type biomes, silver can generate at higher altitudes and is much more common.
Niobium

Niobium is a rare precious metal used in high-end electronics, namely to fuse in dust form with Silicon and Phosphorus in an Argon gas environment to form nanoprocessor logic cores. It generates sparsely in the outer End Islands. The ore's distinctive purple traces glow, keep an eye out on the terrain!
Slatesteel

Slatesteel is a basic alloy of iron, carbon, the minerals in deepslate dust, and Oxygen gas to burn away the impurities. It lacks the versatility of titanium and is too heavy to be used as a chassis material, but is perfect for high-stress applications.
Tungsten-Plated Slatesteel

Even our machines struggle with isolating pure Tungsten metal. But what if it could be bound to a very sturdy metal to produce an extraordinarily resilient alloy? And so, Tungsten-Plated Slatesteel was created.
Processing titanium ores through the third stage of the ore processing line may yield Tungsten Trioxide as an occasional byproduct. Reducing the Tungsten Trioxide with Hydrogen in the presence of Slatesteel Dust will bind the Tungsten metal to the Slatesteel. The melting point of the resulting dust is too high to be smelted in a regular furnace in air. It must be smelted in the Arc Furnace and Nitrogen gas must be used for shielding.
Rhenium

Rhenium metal is used to build our top of the line technology. Like Tungsten, it cannot be found in nature without extensive recovery efforts. Being by collecting Rhenium(VII) Oxide from copper ores during the fifth stage of the ore processing line. Reacting with Ammonia in the Chem Lab will yield Ammonium Perrhenate, but this is still not in a usable state. Further reduction in the Chem Lab with Hydrogen gas will produce Rhenium dust. Finally, smelt the Rhenium dust in the Arc Furnace to yield Rhenium Ingots. This process is lengthy and requires Argon gas for shielding.
