If you want to protect an area from hostile players, you can use the Security Station/$.

This device prevents all player interaction by untrusted players on any blocks within its range. This means that no inventories or GUIs can be opened, and no blocks can be placed or broken.

This sounds great, but to set up a Security Station/$ you need to do some things to ensure its security. Because the thing is, Security Stations/$ can be hacked/$. The hacking system of the Security Station is heavily inspired by Deus Ex: Revolution's hacking system/$.

To set up a Security Station/$, you must place Network Components/$ in the network grid to form a network/$. In every network there must be one Diagnostic Subroutine/$, one Network IO Port/$, and one Network Registry/$.

These three special nodes must all be connected with each other, which is done with Network Nodes/$.

The Sentry Turret/$ is an autonomous defensive weapon. It uses an integrated Minigun/$ and Gun Ammo/$ (which you must supply) to shoot entities within range. Its range is 16 blocks by default, but can be upgraded with Range Upgrades/$ to a max of 32 blocks.

You do not need to provide pressure/$ for Sentry Turret to function, but you do need to provide ammo/$.

Potential targets for the Sentry Turret/$ can be filtered by entering an Entity Filter/$ in the Turret's GUI; you can press & hold F1/$ for a popup filter help page.

Newly-placed turrets have a default filter of @mob/$ to avoid pain and suffering.

When the Sentry Turret/$ is covered by one or more Security Stations/$, it will never target any players who are on the trusted list of all/$ Security Stations, regardless of how the entity filter is set up.
