Fuel Rod
The Fuel Rods are placed inside your Reactor in long horizontal or vertical piles. They serve as a reservoir for reactants—either fuel, waste, or a mix of both—and are irradiated while the Reactor is active, generating heat that can be converted into energy or used to vaporize coolants.
The first Fuel Rod in each pile must be placed adjacent to a Casing block, and the last Fuel Rod must be followed by a Control Rod. You can choose to arrange all your Fuel Rod piles vertically (along the Y axis) or horizontally (along either the X or Z axis), but mixing orientations is not allowed. As a result of this requirement, all Control Rods must be placed on the same face of the Reactor.
