The fragments of Spiritus you have gathered thus far are potent, yet unwieldy. What you require is a vessel, a crystalline prison to contain and compress that malice into something manageable. The Spiritus Gem is precisely such an artifact.

Better still, the gem hungers. Drop loose Spiritus upon the ground nearby, and the gem will devour it of its own accord.

A charged gem can do more than hoard malice. Crouch and right-click a Monster Spawner or Trial Spawner with a gem holding at least 200 Spiritus, and that reserve is spent to wrench the block free of the world. It drops as an item, its bound creature and settings carried with it, ready to be set down again wherever you please.

Your first vessel holds a modest amount of Spiritus, crude, but far more practical than loose fragments rattling about your pack.

To transfer Spiritus between gems, right-click while holding the gem you wish to empty. Its contents flow into the first valid gem in your inventory.
