It does not generate Soul Apex and deals less overall damage than shots fired with Soul Apex. Having Soul Apex changes this description
▪ Hold right-click to fire a powerful blast that consumes 1 Soul Apex to deal fixed damage. Apex shots deal 100% of their damage in a 3-block radius and scale with Generic Spell Power and Ice Spell Power. While using Soul Apex, no Soul Fragments are consumed, but they can still be gained through Soul Collector.
